The Facilities

AWS occupies 4.4 hectares for its TSD facility with eight major treatment components to serve its clientele. Each treatment process has its own area for storage of wastes, equipped with emergency showers and eye wash, operations office and prescribed emergency kits.

SOLVENT AND OIL RECOVERY

AWS has a separate staging area for solvent and oil recovery with a total capacity of 180 m3.

MECHANICAL IMMOBILIZATION

This procedure involves the chemical immobilization/stabilization of the wastes followed by microencapsulation within a cement-based matrix to mitigate the potential leaching to occur.

WASTEWATER TREATMENT SYSTEMS

Chemical, biological, and reed bed wastewater units are installed within the facility to treat processed and domestic wastewater. There are 2 activated sludge aeration tanks each with a capacity of 450m³    

COMPOSTING AND LAND FARMING AREA

AWSI has composting and land farming areas covering 1000 sqm. for organic materialsAWS has two composting and landfarming areas covering a total of 3,400 m³.
