The Facilities

AWS occupies 4.4 hectares for its TSD facility with eight major treatment components to serve its clientele. Each treatment process has its own area for storage of wastes, equipped with emergency showers and eye wash, operations office and prescribed emergency kits.

SIZE REDUCTION FACILITIES, SEGREGATION AND SORTING

AWS presently has four grinders used for glass, laminates, polymers and water packaging materials.

NEUTRALIZATION AND CHEMICAL TREATMENT

This facility caters for non-hazardous wastewater and solutions. There are six treatment tanks, each with a capacity of 35m³.

CHEMICAL FIXATION AND STABILIZATION

AWSI employs a process of fixating the heavy metal contaminants of solutions and sludge. The area has six reactor tanks, each with 35m³ capacity.

METAL RECOVERY SYSTEMS

AWSI has six reactor vats that are connected to an air scrubber used for copper recovery. Each reactor vat has a 4.5m³ capacity.
